 Review

The story really grabs the readers attention from the get-go. Ashlynne Laynne does a great job being descriptive and allowing the reader to feel like they are immersed in the story.

I was surprised at how fresh and how many surprises there were in this story. What a wonderful job of keeping the reader invested in the story and its characters!

Characterization is key in any novel and I felt like Liz was a great main character with real problems that the reader can relate to. She was easy to get behind and root for through the novel.I loved the way that she opened up and accepted Austin throughout the novel.

Ashlynne Laynne is the author of contemporary romance and the award-winning erotic paranormal romance succession, The Progeny Series, as well as an accomplished songwriter and poet. She’s an avid horror movie fan, admitted vamp groupie, and lover of all things Celtic. A hopeless romantic, she’s always had a thing for the fanged ones and hot guys in kilts.
Ashlynne writes on the edge and combines erotica and romance in sensual tales that always feature heroes with heart. A flexitarian, Ashlynne enjoys cooking vegetarian recipes that support a healthier lifestyle. In her spare time, she likes to read, watch crime shows, and spend time with her family. Ashlynne juggles the hats of wife, mother, full time employee and part-time writer, hoping to write exclusively in the future.

Ms. Laynne is an advocate of autism research and is always looking for projects to benefit the cause. She lives in the southern United States with her husband and son.

Book Tour: First Crush, Last Love by @ElizaMcKenna #review and #giveaway

Romance - Contemporary
Date Published: 8/1/17

Remember your first crush? How your heart raced and your cheeks flushed whenever you saw him? Jessie Baxter does, and it’s happening again. Ten years ago, despite her best efforts, Lee Archer wanted to be just friends. Now, he wants more, but Jessie's still recovering from a psycho ex-husband. Can she learn to trust again and make her first crush into her last love?
Elizabeth McKenna’s latest novel will have you remembering the angst of high school, the grief of a failed relationship, and the happiness of true love.

 Review

I enjoyed the characters immensely. I felt like the Romance was well balanced because of their respective personalities.

I liked that Elizabeth McKenna does not shy away from real topics. She takes the issues head on and brings them to life for the reader.

This is an emotional novel. There are ups and downs for these characters individually and as a couple. You will find yourself right in the rollercoaster of emotions with them.

Elizabeth McKenna works as a full-time technical writer/editor for a large software company. Though her love of books reaches back to her childhood, she had never read romance novels until one Christmas when her sister gave her the latest bestseller by Nora Roberts. She was hooked from page one (actually, she admits it was the first love scene).
She had always wanted to write fiction, so she combined her love of history, romance and a happy ending to write Cera's Place and Venice in the Moonlight. Her short story, The Gypsy Casts a Spell, is available for free on her website http://elizabethmckenna.com/. She hopes you will enjoy her first contemporary romance novel, First Crush Last Love, as much as others have enjoyed her historical romances.
Elizabeth lives in Wisconsin with her understanding husband, two beautiful daughters, and a sassy Labrador. When she isn't writing, working, or being a mom, she's sleeping.

If you are looking for a place to retire, settle down, or witness bizarre fiascos stop by Cedar Branch, who knows – you just might make it home!

Another great read from Lee DuCote, a little bit different, but I love his writing style!

DuCote uses laugh out loud moments to help combat any looming drama.

This author does a great job of combining several genres together.

I think that as soon as you start this one, you wont want to stop until you have finished it and then you will want to read more by the author as soon as possible!

Review

There is not a lack of imagination used by Lee DuCote in writing this story. I was blown away by the sheer detail used in bringing the reader into the magical world he has created.

I loved the pacing in this story. It felt very believable and steady. The characters were plenty and well developed

He sets up the world and characters very well, it was a steady flow of action, a beautifully woven romance, and an altogether great read.

Review

This was a young adult novel that really made me think on a deeper level than most.

I think that Allie Frost really managed to keep her readers engaged with these characters the entire way through.

There were many surprises and the way that the author was able to keep the pacing just right really helps everything flow naturally.

Allie Frost was born in 1992 and has spent most of her life in rural Pennsylvania. She attended Western New England University and graduated in 2013 with a degree in English Literature and Film Studies. More than 6 million readers have already fallen in love with the Sullivans! Now get ready to meet your new favorite family in Bella Andre's New York Times and USA Today bestselling contemporary romances with the first three books in the #1 hit series.

"Not since Nora Roberts has anyone been able to write a big family romance series with every book as good as the last! Bella Andre never disappoints!" Revolving Bookcase Reviews

THE LOOK OF LOVE
Chloe Peterson is having a bad night. A really bad night. The large bruise on her cheek can attest to that. And when her car skids off the side of a wet country road straight into a ditch, she's convinced even the gorgeous guy who rescues her in the middle of the rain storm must be too good to be true. Or is he?

As a successful photographer who frequently travels around the world, Chase Sullivan has his pick of beautiful women, and whenever he's home in San Francisco, one of his seven siblings is usually up for causing a little fun trouble. Chase thinks his life is great just as it is--until the night he finds Chloe and her totaled car on the side of the road in Napa Valley. Not only has he never met anyone so lovely, both inside and out, but he quickly realizes she has much bigger problems than her damaged car. Soon, he is willing to move mountains to love--and protect--her, but will she let him?

FROM THIS MOMENT ON
For thirty-six years, Marcus Sullivan has been the responsible older brother, stepping in to take care of his seven siblings after their father died when they were children. But when the perfectly ordered future he's planned for himself turns out to be nothing but a lie, Marcus needs one reckless night to shake free from it all.

Nicola Harding is known throughout the world by only one name - Nico - for her catchy, sensual pop songs. Only, what no one knows about the twenty-five year old singer is that her sex-kitten image is totally false. After a terrible betrayal by a man who loved fame far more than he ever loved her, she vows not to let anyone else get close enough to find out who she really is...or hurt her again. Especially not the gorgeous stranger she meets at a nightclub, even though the hunger - and the sinful promises - in his dark eyes make her want to spill all her secrets.

CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE
Gabe Sullivan risks his life every day as a firefighter in San Francisco. But after learning a brutal lesson about professional boundaries, he knows better than to risk his heart to his fire victims ever again. Especially the brave mother and daughter he saved from a deadly apartment fire...and can't stop thinking about.

Megan Harris knows she owes the heroic firefighter everything for running into a burning building to save her and her seven-year-old daughter. Everything except her heart. Because after losing her navy pilot husband five years ago, she has vowed to never suffer through loving - and losing - a man with a dangerous job again.

Review

I absolutely love this series and these characters. Bella Andre is a master of creating characters that the reader will relate to and root for. I love that each novel has just enough drama in it to give it some conflict, but overall they are lite sweet romantic reads. I love getting to know each of her characters deeper in their own novels. This series stands as one of my favorites.

Review

First of all, I like the way this cover depicts the novel. It's not over done, but is fun at the same time! Actually everything about this novel was fun to me. I liked the ride we were taken on by Christopher Cobb. He was such a vivid storyteller and master of words.

Review

There are a lot of moving parts to this novel and a lot of action. Get ready to be immersed in the world and captivated by the characters the author has created.

This is beyond just a Horror novel, Warriner has brought to life very multi-dimensional characters and given them a purpose.

The world he has created is so vivid and really helps the reader feel like they are there with the characters, which adds to the Horror factor.

A strong and fast paced plot will keep you invested the entire way through.

Book Tour: HOLY by @AbbieKrupnick #bookreview #horror

Horror /contemporary dark fantasy
Date Published: April 15, 2017
Publisher: Darkwater Syndicate, Inc.

Gus Stevens has the worst of both worlds. By night, he resides in the Dream World, a place steeped in magic and exotic dangers. By day, a giant snow-lizard stalks him in the Real World, looking to make Gus its next meal. In order to regain control of his life, young Gus must undergo a psychoanalytic exorcism. But this comes with a high price—he must break away from everything he has ever thought was real. Author Abbie Krupnick blends the magical and the mundane in this avant-garde dark fantasy where nothing is as it seems.

Review
First of all, creepy cover. I wasn't sure what I was going from that eye and a giant lizard. The synopsis gives you some info, but it does completely manage to surprise you in many ways throughout as well. I enjoyed the more thought-provoking mind challenging aspect of the novel in which you had to really delve into the story and figure out what was actually going on. It's not your typical Horror/Fantasy, it is quite a bit more convoluted than that!

Review

Another great Paranormal Mystery from Amy Boyle!

I love Amy's writing style. She pens quirky and fun leads who don't mess around. Andie is no different.

I loved the mystery element to this novel. I felt like it kept me on my toes.

Characters and plot are both well developed.

Overall a great addition to the Paranormal bookshelf!

After graduating college at DePauw University, she spent some time living in Chicago, Louisville, and New York before settling back in the South.
