Review
This book was so very well written. It's a mystery that makes you think on a deep level. It keeps your mind going throughout the entirety of the story.

There are plenty of twists along the way that will keep the reader on their toes. The suspense aspect was very well done.

A great read.

Mystery Feature: Coldwater Revenge by James A. Ross #promo #mystery #giveaway #releaseday #rabtbooktours @RABTBookTours

Mystery

Date Published: 4/27/2021

Publisher: Level Best Books (S&S)

COLDWATER REVENGE is the story of two brothers involved with the same woman, and the ensuing crisis when one brother begins to suspect the other of helping her cover up a murder.

Excerpt

The tiny voice that sometimes appears when you’re about to do something stupid, hissed at Tom to be thankful, sit still and keep his mouth shut. Instead, he braced himself on the underwater rock, gathered breath and shouted.

Yo!” His throat was raw and his lungs shredded, but he continued to bellow. “Eat shit and die, asshole!” Tom struggled to his feet and staggered noisily through the shin-deep shallows. The spotlight from the patrol boat leapt toward the sound. As the boat drew nearer, he dropped and rolled to his back, as if he were afloat in deep water. The twin Sea Witch outboards roared and the thirty-foot cruiser leapt through a cone of halogen light. Tom lifted his one good arm and waved. The battered cruiser hydroplaned erratically through the water like a wounded shark. The bow-mounted spotlight bounced above and around its target, losing and then finding it again. Tom could see the man’s face in the halo of light—cadaverous and grim. He could see his eyes, mad and murderous. The little voice screamed at Tom to be quiet and lie still. He crouched in the shallow water, extended his arm and raised a finger.

Poetry Feature: From the Inside by Thanvi Voruganti #blogtour #bookreview #giveaway #poetry #rabtbooktours @RABTBookTours @AuthorParul

Poetry

Date Published: March 15, 2021

This book of poems is about thoughts, feelings, and emotions we all experience, struggle with, and that have been brought to the forefront by this current pandemic. Losing loved ones, our freedom, and everything taken for granted in our daily lives; while facing sadness, anger, grief, and loneliness, has taught us the importance of our love for nature, gratitude, happiness, cherished memories, and relationships. No feeling or emotion is too small or negligible. Acknowledging and expressing them is my voice from the inside.

REVIEW
Prepare to be completely swept away and equally blown away by the talent this young woman has. Well written, full of so much thought-provoking themes, and just way beyond the years you would expect from someone her age.

Paranormal Romance Feature: Old Cravings by @ScaryJarrett #blogtour #bookreview #paranormalromance #giveaway #rabtbooktours @RABTBookTours

Paranormal Romance

Date Published: April 1, 2021

Publisher: Literary Wanderlust

Veterinarian Piper is pragmatic enough to know her marriage wasn't working, which is why she left Dylan a year ago and pretends it hasn't hurt like hell every day since. Then Dylan calls out of the blue and tells her to come right away for an animal emergency. Piper arrives on the ranch that used to be her home to find her horse savagely killed. She can't fathom what could have done it. One thing, however, is obvious. Piper still loves Dylan.

Dylan isn't over Piper, not by a long shot. After her horse was ripped apart by something he's pretty sure wasn't a bear, it feels so good to hold Piper in his arms again. If only they could find a way to undo the mess that drove them apart.

An epic blizzard hits, trapping Piper and Dylan on the ranch for what just might be their one chance at reuniting. But as things get a whole lot scarier, it's clear something evil has brought them together.

Hunted by the supernatural, they must fight for their lives, but can they also fight for their love?

Review
I can't rave enough about these characters. I absolutely loved them the entire way through. They are really magnificent.
This book has got it going on! Romance and paranormal. Mystery and intriue. Action and so much more.
Joy Jarrett is so incredibly smart as an author! I want to know the writers through their writing, each author has a different voice and I really connected to hers.

About the Author

Joy enjoys imagining something creepy in every situation, starting with a fourth-grade theater production when she became convinced a monster lived under the stage. She might not let different foods touch on her plate, but she’s fearless when it comes to mixing love stories and horror in her scary good romances. Joy is currently a school librarian, but has worked in a pet store, a safari park, and vet hospitals and holds a Zoology degree. Animals always feature in her writing. On a good day, her two cats and two pugs make room on the couch for Joy and her family. They live outside Denver, where Joy experiences frequent shaming that she’s never gone skiing in her life. She enjoys reading, traveling, board games, and going with her English husband to explore castles in Britain, where she finds plenty of romantic, spooky inspiration.

Review
Thoroughly enjoyed the book! Was well written with a great storyline.
I loved the intricate nuances and themes throughout the book. Things like PTSD and marriage issues make this a darker and deeper read. The author really delivered a thought-provoking read.
This was one of those books I had trouble putting down because I was thoroughly engrossed.

Historical Fiction

Date Published: April 21, 2021

Publisher: Ellipsis Entertainment LLC

At the height of WWII, Japanese forces occupy the Korean peninsula. Hana and Jina Bak are Korean at heart but divided in their affections for their "new culture." It would be normal teenage behavior if they weren't trafficked into being "Comfort Women" for the Japanese military. The girls must learn how to navigate the rules of the comfort station, ally themselves with powerful friends, and resist the temptations many sex slaves succumb to. With a newfound appreciation for sibling relationships and devotion to ones' family, the girls must decide the best way to get home before they lose their lives, their sanity, and their very souls. In the vein of the Joy Luck Club, Creatures of Comfort imbues the reader with a sense of fate vs. will, good and bad luck, and family ghosts.

Nonfiction Feature: Tiger Stripes by @byhannahrenae #blogtour #bookreview #giveaway #nonfiction #selfhelp #rabtbooktours @RABTBookTours @hurnpubbooks

Memoir, Nonfiction, Mental Health

Date Published: April, 12th, 2021

Publisher: Hurn Publications

Four psychiatric wards

Three rehabs

Two jail cells

And a suicide attempt…

Hannah was told she would not make it to 25 with the way she was living. She had struggled with mental illness her entire life, but at 22 her demons came to a head at the grips of severe substance abuse, life-changing trauma, and two major deaths in her life.

Hannah’s struggles land her places no one ever hopes to grace; jail and psych wards lead her to the brink of death. Running out of options she’s left with two choices: live or die. This heart-wrenching memoir combines recovery with bittersweet romance told in a raw presentation that immerses the reader into the author’s dark state-of-mind in every page.

Tiger Stripes is going to add a valuable voice to the conversation about women’s mental health issues.

Review
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a serious book with a true story. Real life moments often hit more than fiction. Hannah's journey is dark and sad at times, there is plenty of drama, but there is also inspiration and she shows a lot of grit and determination. An honest look at how women's health issues can lead to something even darker and one woman's determination to overcome life, her past, her addiction and persevere.

About The Author

If there is anything Hannah believes in, it’s hope, but that wasn’t always the case. For a long time, chaos was comfortable for Hannah, but at just 22 she would have to make her hardest decision yet: was life really worth living? Since picking up a pen Hannah has had a love for writing, and as an adult it would become her greatest tool in healing from an almost decade-long battle with severe mental illness and substance abuse. Her first book, Tiger Stripes, is a harrowing, raw telling of her year in and out of hospitals, treatment centers, and jail that finally led her on the road to recovery and freedom.

Hannah was born in Orange County, CA but has lived in the Los Angeles area for several years. She now lives in West L.A. with her boyfriend. When she is not writing she can be found reading, running, cooking, or finding the best vegan eats in L.A.!
