Book Tour and Book Review of Coming Home by @K_OMalley67 my #review and a #giveaway

Contemporary Romance
Date Published: 3-7-17
Publisher: self/ Carolina Blue Publishing

Dr. Elizabeth Abbott Fitzgerald has spent the last ten years of her life running; from tragedy, from family, from love. But now her mother’s failing health calls her home to Windsor Falls, North Carolina; to the place where her past awaits. Sam Bishop can’t believe his eyes when the love of his life returns after ten long years. All he wants is to clear his conscience and get back the family he lost when Connor, his best friend and Elizabeth’s husband died tragically. Could it really be true that time heals all wounds?

Review
This is beyond just a Romance, it had real HEART. Kimberly O'Malley has brought to life very multi-dimensional characters and given them a purpose.

The world she has created is so vivid and really helps the reader feel like they are there with the characters.

A strong and fast paced plot will keep you invested the entire way through.

This story managed to surprise me several times as well. I liked how balanced the characters were, I felt like each one served their own purpose and had a valid place in the novel.

Kimberley O’Malley is a recent transplant to Charlotte, North Carolina from the frozen North. She is learning to say y’all but draws the line at sweet tea. Sarcasm is an art form in her world. When not writing, she is a full-time nurse and part-time soccer Mom, but not necessarily in that order. She shares her life with an amazing husband of more than twenty years, two teenagers, and one very sweet Shetland Sheepdog, Molly.

Book Tour from Teri Yorek for Every Breath with my #review

Romance
Date Published: December 1, 2016
Publisher: Dark Hollows

Brianna ran with her daughter from Arizona all the way to Minnesota to escape her blackmailing sister, Kathy. Melinda belonged to Brianna now, not Kathy, who gave her up for adoption to Brianna, and now Kathy suddenly has a desire to be a mother? Ha! There’s money out there for single moms and cold hard cash is the only thing Kathy understands. Besides, Minnesota has something Brianna finds she is very interested in – Hockey.

Okay, maybe not hockey, but one specific hockey player by the name of Devon Saint Martin. Big, gorgeous and wealthy, Devon has it all. Including a long string of stunning ex-girlfriends. So Brianna knows he would have no interest in her plain-Jane looks.

Except, the first time they meet, it was up close and personal and they were both naked.

Devon made it perfectly clear he was not only interested, he wants Brianna AND her daughter. But the man is famous for his “never gonna get married” attitude and there’s no way Brianna is going to fall victim to the devastating “Devon charm” and be yet another notch on the man’s hockey stick.

When some troubling incidents begin to take place, both Devon and Brianna question who could be behind the attempts to harm Brianna, and jeopardize their fledgling romance.

Review

Beautiful book cover. It is both simple yet powerful at the same time.

This story was well developed and I really liked the heart of it and what it stood for. The flow was a bit disjointed for me at times, but ultimately I think everything does come together.

Brianna was my favorite part. I felt like I could relate to her as a character. She was genuine and strong and a great mother.

Devon was a great male lead as well. He was a solid force in Briana's life and I feel like he truly made it better.

This novel isn't the epitome of predictable, but there weren't any great big shocks for me. I think ultimately it was a sweet romance.

Author Bio
Acknowledgement

Teri had beautiful hands. Something I always noticed. Not that she had manicures all the time or used a special lotion, she just had naturally beautiful hands. She also had beautiful handwriting. You could always tell if she wrote a particular note or actually signed the birthday card, because her handwriting was unique. At least it was to me. She got it from our mother who was, and is, meticulous about certain things, and her own handwriting was just one of many she took pride in. That wasn’t the only thing Teri got from our mother. She got our mother’s beauty, perfect skin, amazing energy, and keen eye for detail. She also got our mother’s solid common sense and, along with my other two sisters and my brother, brilliance. Well – maybe she got some of that from our dad as well. Sadly, I didn’t get any of it, the hands, the beauty, the common sense or the brilliance. And the handwriting? Some would say “Good grief, no”. But the one thing Teri and I did have in common was reading. Oh yes. A passion for both of us and Teri had hundreds and hundreds of romance paperbacks, all of which, she read. Every single one.

Unfortunately, at the young age of 23, Teri was diagnosed with cancer, and after battling it for three long years, the cancer took her life. A number of weeks after her death, when going through her things, the family discovered a file folder of notebooks and loose papers, all filled with her handwritten romance stories. Who knew? None were complete, but it was obvious we also shared one other thing. She, like me, had, at one point, dreams of becoming an author. But, along with so many of her dreams, she was never able to make it happen. So I gathered up that file and stored it away, vowing that someday I would make at least that denied dream come true. Then a few years ago I became a published author with, now, over twenty books under my author name.

I was finally ready.

Which was a good thing. I had a bout with breast cancer last year and my mom was recently diagnosed with colon cancer. It put things back into perspective for me. I wanted that book done. So here it is. Complete.

This book is a combination of all those beautifully handwritten notes, stories and out-lines, found in that old, and now very tattered, file folder. It is also a combination of our writing styles, something I think Teri would appreciate, respect, and, I dare to believe, like. I see her adding this paperback to her enormous collection and moving right on to the next dream, this one finally fulfilled.

And my mom? She may or may not read it. I hope she does. Otherwise, it will still have a special place on her book shelf that she designated a long time ago for this very book.

Thank you Eden Connors, Michelle Williams and the awesome Shannon West, all true heroes, for believing in me enough to pull this off and committing to publishing this book even before I finished it. Thank you to my family of crazy people who allowed me to take this file of Teri’s writings so many years ago and for believing that I could possibly make it what it is today, a little contribution to the paperback romance world. And thank you, Teri, for letting us find your treasure in the first place so I, along with so many awesome others, could complete this dream for you, for our family and, hopefully, for many happy readers who will now be able to see not only what your beautiful hands created but a tiny piece of your heart.

Book Tour and Review of Motherhood, Martyrdom, and Costco Runs by @WhitneyDineen #review #nonfiction #parenting #giveaway

Parenting/Humor/Memoir
Date Published: May 15, 2017
Publisher: 33 Partners Publishing

Join bestselling romantic comedy author, Whitney Dineen, as she discovers the three Es of parenting:
·         Exhilarating—when you first discover you’re pregnant.
·         Exhausting—when you realize you’ll most likely never sleep again--like EVER.
·         Explosive—OMG these kids spew from both ends!
And that’s just the beginning. Whitney shares the ridiculous highs and excruciating lows of her catapult into motherhood. Enjoy the ride as this new mom vows to give up profanity while falling in love with… you guessed it, Costco. Be careful, because if you’re anything like Whitney, you may just pee a little.
Motherhood Martyrdom & Costco Runs takes the reader on a roller coaster of emotions as Whitney plummets into postpartum depression, desperately tries to get her kids to stop yodeling in public restrooms, and comes to terms with the fact she’ll never quite be queen of her own kingdom. Get ready to laugh, cry, cheer, and pat yourself on the back for the sake of mommies everywhere. And while you’re at it, stop by Costco for a case of toilet paper and a Very Berry Sundae. You won’t regret it!

Early Reviews:
  •  Dineen writes in the vein of Erma Bombeck and David Sedaris, with a life-is-funnier-than-fiction humor. Her prose is short and punchy, making you wince along with her when her girls (ahem) say the darndest things in the checkout line and nod with understanding over her aversion to snow days. While many of the stories are humorous, Dineen doesn't shy away from the tough stuff, such as her struggles with post-partum depression. As far as parenting essays go, this is one of the best out there. Dineen is self-deprecating and relatable, as well as vulnerable, letting it all hang out in a style that is reassuring in a girlfriend-y way, seeming to say "Hey, we're all in this together, let's eat some soft pretzels and chat."  5/5-stars, San Francisco Book Review
  • "Erma [Bombeck] would probably get the biggest charge out of Motherhood Martyrdom & Costco Runs. It's beautifully written and a joy to read, even the parts that are embarrassing for some Victorian  throwbacks like the author's husband. While the title and even the dedication seem to imply a specific subsection of the public may want to read this, I'll beg to differ and recommend it to everyone, breeders, non-breeders, even those whose sense of humor is somewhat challenged, as mine is. Dineen works a bit of magic here in this authentic, inspiring and very human collection of humorist writing. MotherhoodMartyrdom & Costco Runs is most highly recommended." -Readers' Favorite, 5/5-stars
  • "Whitney's book, her voice, and experience share [are] hilarious but also raw, honest, and beautiful. If taken to heart and mind, this book can help drive you to do good in the world and in your own personal life both as a mother and as a person." -Portland Book Review
  • "Whitney Dineen serves up an honest and hilarious portrayal of motherhood. Motherhood is tough and you're going to laugh or cry; you should always choose to laugh."-Jen Mann, NYT Bestselling Author of My Lame Life
  • "With Motherhood Martyrdom and Costco Runs, Whitney Dineen has given us a beautiful, comical, and often poignant look into what raising children is really like. I found myself laughing and shedding a tear or two as I devoured the pages of this fantastic book. I absolutely adored it. And now I'm off to renew my membership to Costco!" -Bestselling Author, Jennifer Peel
  • "Laugh-out-loud funny, endearing, and so spot-on!" --Bestselling Author, Becky Monson

My Review

Heartwarming and Inspiring. This novel will have you laughing out loud and crying tears of both heartache and joy. There is so much truth in Whitney's writing and I really appreciated her laying it all out there for us to read and connect with.

Motherhood is not a piece of cake and mothers go through new struggles each day, but aside from that we also experience an amazing joy every day. It's a balance and I loved the way that Whitney portrayed that.

While attending the University of Illinois in Chicago, Whitney Dineen was discovered by a local modeling agent and began an unexpected career as a plus-size Ford model. She modeled in New York City before moving to Los Angeles with her husband.
During “The Hollywood Years,” Whitney was bitten by the writing bug and started creating characters that are inspired by strong women with a great sense of humor. Her first romantic comedy, She Sins at Midnight, won a silver medal in the 2015 Reader’s Favorite awards. Her second, The Reinvention of Mimi Finnegan, is a finalist in the 2016 RONE Awards, won a silver medal at the 2016 Reader’s Favorite Awards and won Honorable Mention at the London Book Festival. Her third chick-lit book, Mimi Plus Two, is causing all kinds of controversy and who the heck knows where it will land. Although, it was a finalist in the Reader’s Favorite Awards and a Runner-Up at the London Book Festival.
In addition to her love of chick-lit, Whitney has also written a series of adventure books for middle readers. The first two books in her series, Wilhelmina and the Willamette Wig Factory and Who the Heck is Harvey Stingle? are both available now. Book three, Beware of the Basement, is due to be released in the spring of 2017.
Whitney and her husband, Jimmy, have relocated to the beautiful Pacific Northwest to raise their children, chickens, and organic vegetables.

Review

I'm going to jump in with the others who so thoroughly enjoyed this book. I think that it is a great erotic read and an overall great Fantasy world and novel.

Finn, wow, he is hot hot hot! I loved how sweet and protective he was. That really came through the pages for me.

You will be very pleasantly surprised on the deep and intriguing story you get out of it. Ruby and Clyde are both very captivating characters

I liked the way this book was a quick read and really kept me flipping the pages to the very end.
