Review

Discovery of the Five Senses is the first book in a new series. We have a group of friends who are just your typical teens, that are not at all heroes. An encounter with a mysterious source leaves them with heightened senses. As they learn to manage these, they very much become superhuman.

Discovery of the Five Senses is so fun, but also extremely heartfelt. I loved the friendships in this book. 

The plot was a riveting one and it was very well written. Engaging and had an easy-to-read style. The story was good, it moved on at quite a good pace and we got to know all the characters quite well. The world-building was also great, I felt as though I knew a lot about the world while reading, but didn't feel overwhelmed by all the information we were getting.

All in all, this is a great ride. Ups and downs, themes of good and evil. Typical young adult issues are woven in between the fight between good and evil. Bonds of friendship and the power of that. Well done.
