This collection of short stories ranges from 50 words to more than 50 pages, separated in categories labeled to fit your bathroom needs: NUMBER ONE, NUMBER TWO, and FARFROMPOOPIN. The idea is to give you, the reader, a great deal of material to read, tailored and categorized to the needs of your intestines and bladder. So go ahead, get comfortable, pull out your Squatty Potty® and enjoy some fantasy, science fiction, horror, adventure, and humor from the comfort of your own throne…the john…the latrine…your office…the bathroom, whatever you want to call it. Just be sure to wash your hands once you’re done.

Review

Everything about this collection was witty. From the titles she gave the shorts, to the humor laced throughout them. I love how it was set up and separated based on how much *time* you had to read on the pot. :P

You will want to read these while going potty, it's how they are supposed to be read after all. Now, I'm sure that anyone could enjoy this collection, anywhere. But, really, how do you read any of these anywhere else?

There is something for everyone and every mood in this collection and I think that was the wonderful thing about this. A reader may connect to some more than others, but overall I think you will be glad you gave this collection a chance.

"What are you doing here, Jules?"

"I wanted to see you. We haven't talking in a few days, and I just wanted to check in." I laid my hands flat against the books; they offered comfort.

"You should have called." He stared off toward his desk.
"Are you excepting company?"

"No. It's been a long week; I'm tired and I have a headache."

I stepped toward him, stood a few inches away, but he didn't drop his hands.

"You should let me rub your temples." I reached up, and he grabbed my hand and stepped away.

"Don't."

"You don't even want me to touch you?" I asked over the grapefruit size lump in my throat.

"Jules, please just go."

"No. Why?" I asked. "I just want to be near you. Why is that so bad?"

"It's not bad, but I just can't."

"Why? What is it?"

"You wouldn't understand."

"Then make me understand."

His eyes flashed, and he stepped toward me. I welcomed the warmth. His demeanor softened for a split second. I saw it. I felt it, but then it was gone, and he slumped back on the bookshelves with his chin to his chest.

"I can't," he said.

The words crushed me yet his tone scared me. I stood in front of him. He shuddered but didn't look at me. I bent down, so I could see his eyes.

"Why?" I asked. "What are you afraid of?"

He lifted his head. He reached up and ran the back of his hand down my tear-soaked face.

I shuddered.

"I'm afraid if I tell you, if I show you what I am and what I'm truly like, then you'll stop looking at me like that." His hand dropped to his side. "I'd really miss that."

"How do I look at you?" I asked. I knew the answer but wanted to hear how he saw it. "Like I'm a king. You have the ultimate faith in me. I don't deserve it." His head dropped again.

"Then earn it," I said, my tone stronger than I felt on the inside. Inside, I felt like I might crumble any minutes if he didn't touch me.

"Oh, Julia ... How?" He raised his head.

I spotted a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

"Keep it simple. What do you need me to do?"

His eyes grew dark as he approached me. I backed up into the bookshelf, and he placed his hands on either side of my head.

"Do as I say?"

I nodded. My heart raced, and I was sure he could hear it thumping like crazy. He placed his hand over my heart, and I drew in a sharp breath. His fingers tapped against my sternum.

"Look at me."

I turned my head up and stared into his eyes. His hands rose and surround my throat. He didn't squeeze, but panic set in.

"I'm not going to hurt you, Jules." He pressed a little tighter. "I need you to trust me."

"Okay."

"Do you trust me?"

I nodded.

"Say it."

"I trust—" Before I finished the sentence, his lips were on mine.

Cover Reveal: Her Book Boyfriend

Title: Her Book Boyfriend Author: K.R. Grace Genre: Mature YA Romantic Comedy Release Date: August 25, 2017 Cover Designer: Okay Creations, LLC Hosted by: Buoni Amici Press, LLC.

She believes the secret to love is in the tropes of her favorite romance novels. He’s the best friend prepared to prove her wrong.

Then comes the bet.

If she can’t land a boyfriend for prom by recreating the ten popular tropes in her favorite romance author’s books, she has to go to the prom with her.

The glitch?

They’ve been close their entire lives. He’s the rock god and school legend, while she’s the brainy sidekick who does all his dirty breakups. Thus, finding a guy who doesn’t think they’re already an item is going to be a lot harder than she thinks.

Will she land the book boyfriend of her dreams? Or will she be forced to go to prom with her best friend?

The truth is in the pages.

As a child, K.R. Grace had an overactive imagination. When it was obvious she wasn’t going to change anytime soon, her mom shoved a pen and paper in her hand and said, “Write it down.” So, at the age of eight, her first story was born, and the writing hasn’t stopped since. When she’s not running with wolves, sleeping with bears, or flying with falcons, she can be found checking out local bands or watching movies about things that go “boo” in the night. She lives in East Tennessee with a dog that is afraid of his own shadow and a cat that was a mob leader in a former life.

Their attention develops a laser focus on an engineered earthquake mere days ahead of them in San Francisco. While they fight to stop the earthquake, Irina pushes the love of her life Jonah as far away as she can, trying to keep his unstable genetic degradation in check.

Irina’s friends think they’ve seen the worst that Innoviro could bring forth by the time they reach a secret facility in the Mojave Desert. As they near the property, the group uncovers a horror none of them had ever imagined.

Review

I liked the diversity of the novel. It pulls together Paranormal/Sci-Fi along with Mystery/Suspense and romance, all of which are executed well and come together seamlessly.

Since this is a second in a series, it didn't take long for the action to begin and the story to unfold. We get a little bit of a catch up, but then we dive directly into the action.

I really enjoyed the fact that Christine Hart was able to surprise me a couple of times. I always like a novel that keeps me guessing.

I wasn't always on board with all of these characters, Irina specifically made me question here decisions and actions several times throughout, but it kept me guessing, that's for sure.

Located on BC’s beautiful West Coast, Christine writes speculative fiction for YA & NA readers.  She has an undergraduate degree in writing and literature, a corporate background in communications and design, and an Etsy alter-ego named Sleepless Storyteller. Christine shares her eclectic home and lifestyle with her metal working husband, dancing daughter and rocket enthusiast son.

Review

Bernadette Marie has penned a winner in Chasing Shadows. For fans of books that consume your every thought when you put it down, this is definitely the one for you.

I loved the mystery and the fact that it kept me guessing.

My favorite thing about this novel was the characters. They were multi dimensional and we really got a good background on them to allow us to understand their characters. I loved the fact that their relationship was balanced by each of their characteristics and experiences. They really complemented each other well. It was a beautiful romance.
