Paranormal Romance

Date Published: April 1, 2021

Publisher: Literary Wanderlust

Veterinarian Piper is pragmatic enough to know her marriage wasn't working, which is why she left Dylan a year ago and pretends it hasn't hurt like hell every day since. Then Dylan calls out of the blue and tells her to come right away for an animal emergency. Piper arrives on the ranch that used to be her home to find her horse savagely killed. She can't fathom what could have done it. One thing, however, is obvious. Piper still loves Dylan.

Dylan isn't over Piper, not by a long shot. After her horse was ripped apart by something he's pretty sure wasn't a bear, it feels so good to hold Piper in his arms again. If only they could find a way to undo the mess that drove them apart.

An epic blizzard hits, trapping Piper and Dylan on the ranch for what just might be their one chance at reuniting. But as things get a whole lot scarier, it's clear something evil has brought them together.

Hunted by the supernatural, they must fight for their lives, but can they also fight for their love?

Excerpt

Piper’s ex-husband peered at her wound, his breath warm on her thigh. It was strange that it was strange to have him touch her. This man knew every last inch of her body intimately, had taken it many times, owned it as only a husband could. His hands all over her had once been natural. Now it was thrilling in its strangeness—familiar and forbidden all at once.

He looked up at her with those hazel eyes, and her breath caught. For several heartbeats, they stared at one another until she cleared her throat. “I don’t like waiting here like sitting ducks.” Waiting for—no, she didn’t want to think of that now. She didn’t want to think of it ever again.

I know. But this barn is new and well-built. Everything is locked up tight.” He bent once more to inspect the scratch. “We’re going to need more guns and way more ammo, too.”

About the Author

Joy enjoys imagining something creepy in every situation, starting with a fourth-grade theater production when she became convinced a monster lived under the stage. She might not let different foods touch on her plate, but she’s fearless when it comes to mixing love stories and horror in her scary good romances. Joy is currently a school librarian, but has worked in a pet store, a safari park, and vet hospitals and holds a Zoology degree. Animals always feature in her writing. On a good day, her two cats and two pugs make room on the couch for Joy and her family. They live outside Denver, where Joy experiences frequent shaming that she’s never gone skiing in her life. She enjoys reading, traveling, board games, and going with her English husband to explore castles in Britain, where she finds plenty of romantic, spooky inspiration.

Christian Fiction

Publisher: Outskirts Press

Transformation: 30 Years is an autobiographical yet fictionalized account of a young woman's journey through many facets, or serious issues, of life such as racism, domestic violence, bullying, eating disorders, lost love, alcoholism, low self esteem, poor self image, overcoming poverty, stereotypes...These are just some of the issues that are addressed in this book. The protagonist resents her "overprotective" mother keeping her from the "fun and mystery" of the darkness. When she finally "escapes" to college and has the power to "live life her own way" she experiences some of the lowest points of her life. Had it not been for the Grace of a Risen Savior, she would have perished. She was, "Saved by Grace." The book is an easy, quick read that speaks to varying age groups. There is something in the book for anyone who reads it. The book is a ray of hope for those going through various struggles in life to be "tenacious," and have hope because your Transformation is on the way!!!

Excerpt

The rampant partying continued even after classes had started. Even after a couple of years had passed. Even after it all became unfun. Partying and drinking had become a lifestyle that got in the way of the intended purpose of being there to learn and pursue a degree leading to a career. Jenny had frequent bouts of home sickness and was sinking deeper and deeper into depression. The late nights had become unfun; the hot wings, steamed oysters, and the pitchers of beer had become unfun. The frat parties with their free kegs and anything-goes antics had become unfun. The stories of drunken stupors, hellacious hangovers and promiscuous hook ups had become unfun. Depression was beginning to overtake her to the point of having suicidal thoughts. If life was going to be like this, why live?...

A Chakra and Ho’oponopono Healing Guidebook

Non-fiction/NewAge/Spiritual/Meditation

Date Published: March 3, 2021

Publisher: Healing Forward

Discover the Healing Power of Chakras and Ho’oponopono

Healing From Within is a powerful healing guidebook that teaches you how to connect your body, mind, and spirit at a deeper level using chakras, the ancient Hawaiian practice of Ho'oponopono, and journaling. When you implement these tools into your daily life, you will accelerate your emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual growth and healing.

Wendi shares her personal healing journey with multiple chronic illnesses and pain and how these three healing tools profoundly transformed her health and life. Through her experience, she created this book with simple and useful tools to empower you to optimize your own health and energy.

Each chapter focuses on one of the seven chakras and ways to nourish them for proper balance in all areas of your life. It also includes engaging self-reflective assignments, meditation, and when and how to use Ho’oponopono. With the combination of chakras, Ho'oponopono, and journaling, you can solve challenges in your life and health and find the answers you have been searching for.

Praise for Healing from Within

When I saw the title for this book, I wondered, “Really? Another Chakra book?” I’ve read many of these and found them the same with the exception of the cover. Yet, “Healing from Within: A Chakra and Ho’oponopono Healing Guidebook” really IS different from all the rest.

This is not just another chakra book. Wendi Lindemuth wrote this text based on her own lessons learned and real-life application by overcoming a serious illness. Her book is more than a step-by-step guide; it’s roadmap allowing the reader to make choices based on their personal situation. If feeling lonely or depressed, or there are physical issues present, the reader can find which Chakra to address and get back on track.

The author combined three important resources to help the reader empower their physical, energetic, cognitive, and spiritual health. The key element of journaling allows the reader to be their own practitioner, capturing their present state and making informed adjustments for their own personal care.

I recommend this book; it is an easy read. Yet, if a person wants positive change, they must be willing to take action. Ms. Lindemuth created a resource for the reader to empower themselves.

- Anthony M. Davis

Wendi Lindenmuth's Healing from Within offers a simple, self-paced introduction to chakra meditation and the Hawaiian practice of Ho'oponopono. The author describes how she combines chakra meditation, Ho'oponopono and journaling to manage chronic pain.

This is a book to be revisited frequently and comfortably, as you revisit and realign energy as it moves throughout the body.

The reader is invited to look within and acknowledge what is out of balance whether it be physical, emotional or spiritual with the intent to improve rather than punish or criticize. The alignment of chakras is combined with the Ho'oponopono living principles that can be invoked as needed throughout life's changing circumstances. These four statements of Ho'oponopono are used to clear away any negative obstructions.

I'm sorry.

Please forgive me.

Thank you.

I love you.

By thinking or repeating these statements, the reader with developing familiarity and trust in the principles of Ho'oponopono. The sensation of refreshing peace is a soothing and welcoming reward that will deepen with time and practice.

Josie Donahue Hermes, L.Ac.

Wendi offers an easy-to-follow, action-oriented book to get you into a spiritual practice of chakra and Ho'oponopono. Learn how to apply these two modalities and easily fit them into your current routine and lifestyle. The chakra artwork is Wendi's original artwork. You will feel the love and compassion that Wendi infuses into her books. This isn't just another do as I say book. Wendi practices what she teaches. You'll have an understanding of the focus and meaning of each chakra including the parts of the body, crystals, color therapy, and essential oils to apply to healing with chakras.

If you're new to Chakras or Ho'oponopono you'll appreciate the ease in which you can learn about these modalities.

I wish I would have had this book when I first started my spiritual journey. :)

Tolan has always let her mother have one secret — how she got that scar on her face — playing along with her mother’s game of inventing outlandish tales to explain the wound away. But when she finds a manuscript on her mother’s computer that promises to reveal the true story, Tolan only hesitates for a moment before curiosity compels her to read on.

She’s hoping for answers, but instead, she finds more mysteries tucked away in her mother’s past. Her mother appears to be associated with Bo, a feisty photojournalist who flies to Cuba in pursuit of a story and becomes embedded with Castro’s rebels, but Tolan can’t quite work out their connection. She’s more clear about the relationship between her mother and Michael, a man twelve years her senior. They bond over their shared outcast status, and their friendship quickly becomes intimate, but the relationship antagonizes the self-appointed moral watchdogs in their small town, who start to convert their threats into action. Tolan is pretty sure that Michael is her father. Her mother told her he died years ago, but the book suggests their story had a different ending.

Almost overnight, everything Tolan thought she knew about herself and her family has changed. She wants answers, but to find them, she risks destroying her closest relationships.

Review

I love stories where we get such a strong female lead who really encompasses all that women are.

Tolan's journey is a beautiful one and she is the perfect character to carry this story.

Thank you to Ciahnan Darrell for brining her story to life. I was so emmersed in it every step of the way.

Review
I'm glad I picked this up. Sit down to read and hilarity ensues.
These authors definitely bring the laughs. I found each story a great  read in its own right. The balance of romance, wit, and humor was well done in each.
It's a great collection you won't want to miss.

Review
Rarely, oh, so rarely, have I seen such a detailed and vibrant imagination at work.
The main characters are engaging, profoundly intricate, and deeply passionate about freedom, duty, honor, and, yes, even love.

It's an exciting read, and I was glad to involve my imagination fully in this amazing creation, but as compared to some other sci-fi I've read, it was not always "compelling". Other novels have sometimes been so outrageously captivating that I had to finish them in one sitting. However, in lieu of such breakneck pacing, I reveled in the rich description, frequent plot twists, and just "feel good" nature of the book.

About the Author

Shawn lives in Massachusetts with his wife and the handful of childhood stuffed animals that they’ve been unable to part ways with, even despite the awkward situation it occasionally puts their house guests in. He wields a coveted Associates of Liberal Arts degree from Greenfield Community college in an overly enthusiastic, flailing manner, and puts it to work writing both fantasy and science fiction stories. Using subliminal codes and hidden messaging carefully placed throughout his books, he plans to captivate the minds of his readers and insidiously manipulate them into purchasing subsequent releases.

As a novelist, musician, graphic designer, and a purveyor of fine games, Shawn is often confused about exactly who he is when he wakes up in the morning. It’s been said (by him) that perhaps he embodies all of these things so equally that a singular definition could not comprehensively impart a satisfactory description. With your support, and a sufficient demand for more novels, he secretly hopes that he’ll have no choice but to formally acknowledge the prevailing label of ‘author’ and spend the rest of his days providing a sense of wonder and adventure to everyone who helped him solidify his nebulous identity.

Sci-Fi Feature: Dogs of Devtown by @tayhoho #blogtour #bookreview #scifi #cyberpunk #rabtbooktours @RABTBookTours

Cyberpunk Science Fiction

Date Published: April 16, 2021

Welcome to DevTown.

In this city, holo ads lumber like neon giants seeking advertising targets. Men and women pop Oracle tabs in search of relief or enlightenment or both. Creatures of unknown origin stalk the darkest alleys. In the center of it all, NexDev Tower looms over the city, home to hundreds of floors of top-secret research.

And in its shadow, Shan Hayes kills people for money.

Rejecting the mechanical enhancements so popular in DevTown, Shan needs only two things: The resynth serum that can reshape her body's entire cellular structure, and her hand-cannon containing a sentient parasite capable of converting her blood into weaponized wasps.

As a hired gun for various crime syndicates, there's little of the city's underbelly Shan hasn't encountered. But when a longtime business associate hires her to track down an underling who's vanished into the neon night, Shan finds DevTown still holds secrets more deadly and terrifying than anything she could imagine.

Review
Excellent story with interesting characters.
I loved that this was not a short story, we got to see the characters fully develop from beginning to end. I loved the growth they showed.
It is very well written and keeps your attention throughout.
A few minor glitches like most books, but nothing too serious and it really holds its own.

Excerpt

From introduction

Do you feel a burning desire to be the very best you can but don’t know exactly how or where to begin the process? Do you know for certain that God created you for greatness and yet are afraid to walk out your true destiny? Do you have goals and dreams but lack the motivation, resources, training, or coaching to move forward? Have you accomplished a measure of success but still want more from your life? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you are certainly not the only one.

There are indeed a countless number of women who share these same sentiments and are reduced to living lives considerably below their full potential. They often feel stuck in an inescapable cycle of mediocrity, having a desire to be their very best but subconsciously settling for substantially less. They live an “average” life, finding solace while existing at the top of the bottom or the bottom of the top, not excellent, “just enough.” Either way, they gravitate to a place of comfort, following the path of least resistance.
