Blog Tour: Enchanted by @DaydreamingJ #review

Romantic Fantasy
Date PublishedJune 3, 2016

Claire Arden has a lot on her plate. In addition to surviving life as a high school sophomore, while avoiding the pitfalls that come with growing up on the wrong side of the tracks, she takes care of her aging grandmother, does her best to keep her flighty best friend out of trouble, and even holds down a part-time gig at The Burger Shack. Oh! And she recently discovered that she's a princess, but not just any princess. Claire is the half- blood princess of a race of creatures she'd always assumed didn't exist outside of the bedtime stories her gran used to tell her. Forced out of our world by humans of old, the fae, gifted with dominion over the four elements, created Faega, a world behind our own where they govern beings long believed to be mythic. Under the protection of her human mother's closest friend, Claire was spirited away from Faega as an infant because of an uprising of those who opposed her birth simply because she was only half fae. Sixteen years later, with members of the dark fae searching for her, she's reacquainted with the magical realm from her bedtime stories, and all the treachery, danger, and adventure that comes along with it.

Review

A good start to a new Fantasy series . There are some valuable lessons and themes that will make you think on a deeper level.

The characters were well-done, Claire herself is perfectly flawed. She shows the part of humanity where we are can choose paths that are not ideal and what affect they have on others. At times the plot seemed a little slow, but it all came together in the end.

I liked the addition of the Romance and that it was light and just enough to wet our appetites for more to come in the next books.

Hi; I'm Jessica. In a nutshell I'm just a hopeless romantic with a wandering mind and a big imagination who's grateful to God for her gift of storytelling. I've been blessed with a mind and imagination inclined toward all things artistic, so I think a creative career was always meant for me. I've been writing since I was a kid, but I didn't start seriously contemplating becoming an author until I was in college. The idea for this sprawling fantasy series that is now known as The Mythic Chronicles came to me when I was sixteen, and I got so inspired by this little half-formed idea that I wrote my first draft of the story that, 8 years later, became Book 1: Enchanted in about one month.. That first manuscript will never see the light of day because it was pretty terrible, but no worries, My skills have improved a lot since then. If you're up for a sprawling, fantasy series packed with plenty of magic, danger, romance, and adventure, the journey begins with Enchanted: The Mythic Chronicles Book 1. If you have read any of the books in the series, and enjoyed them, don't forget to write a review. Getting feedback from you guys is so rewarding. You can follow me on my various social media platforms (found on the "links"page) to stay in the know. I love hearing from you guys, so feel free to email me at darlingpen2 (at) gmail (dot) com. Thank you guys for all your love and support. I love each and every one of you. Welcome to the family!

Review

There are a lot of moving parts to this one and it definitely takes some getting used to when reading it. The reader could be confused a bit, but that often happens as an author is trying to introduce you to a new world. I think Rain Grey has done a great job of wading through the information and giving us enough to catch us up without overtaking the whole novel.

There were parts of the romance that seemed far fetched, but overall I really did like the connection between the two characters.

About the Author

Rain Grey is a psychologist by profession. However, she has been writing books since she was fifteen years old. She loves anything supernatural and her favourite genres are vampire Romance and ghost fiction. Her home in England is close to the town of Stratford Upon Avon, where William Shakespeare was born.

Blog Tour: The Can't-idates: Running For President When Nobody Knows Your Name by @The_Cantidates #review

Non-Fiction
Date Published: January 2016
Publisher: Bobtimystic Books

: I’m not a political person by nature. Most of the time, it seems the political world plays out more like a lame ‘70s sitcom with all its predictable characters and routine storylines. However, last spring, I got tired of hearing friends and family complain about the lack of exciting, innovative candidates for president. Everyone seemed ready to vote for "None Of the Above." So, I decided to take a 10,000-mile road trip across America in May 2015 to meet several of the more than 1600 "real people" who are legit candidates for the presidency. Including a couple in New England.

The Can’t-idates is about dreamers -- not all of whom are tin-foil hat crazy -- who just want to fill a hole in their lives by running for president. And as I drove to meet them all, I realized a lot about not just my life but also about the country. If we could all take time to believe in what our parents always told us -- "Someday you can grow up to be president" -- maybe we wouldn't be in the shape we're in.

Review

I love the authenticity this novel brought to the table. I liked that the author really set out questions and helped answer them with real life situations and real people. I found this novel really enlightening and found myself thinking hard about things I hadn't thought about before reading this.

With some great tips, examples, and superb writing. Craig Tomashoff really sheds light on the Political world and gives pointers to those with aspirations.

Review

This novel is definitely not easy to piece together yourself and I felt myself surprised many times.

Jennifer Chase is able to unfold the plot believably while stringing readers along. The characters are both different yet the same in ways and I enjoyed the balance of having both sides of the story to read about.

The action and drama leaps off the pages. Pick this one up, you wont be disappointed.

Review

This Novel is definitely an adult Paranormal Romance. There are themes in which are not suitable for younger readers.

This novel starts off with a bang.  Sohpia Kimble really manages to capture the reader from start to finish.

The journey had such a build up and I found myself invested in all aspects of the story and its characters.

Sophia Kimble has always wanted to be an author, but for years, life got in the way. She wouldn’t change a thing about how her life turned out, though. Her family keeps her laughing and loving. Her wonderful husband and two extraordinary children stand beside her every step of the way and make this journey called life worth living.

Sophia has worked as a nurse for twenty years, but has put that career path aside to devote her time and imagination to writing down the stories that keep her up nights.

She takes her love of the paranormal, history, and genealogy, and weaves them into tales of family, fated love, and supernatural occurrences.
